The City of York Council are recruiting a Placement Officer in the Placement Finding Commissioning and Support Team.
This role is pivotal in ensuring our children live in families and settings that are best able to meet their needs when they cannot remain within their family.
The person undertaking this role will needs to be proficient in all aspects of business administration, have great customer service and partnership working skills, as well as the ability to successfully network.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping children and young people to find safe and loving homes.
You must be able to manage your own time and think creatively whilst managing competing demands and priorities. You will be a team player, working within an established and experienced team.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level B1: Can exploit a wide range of simple language flexibly to express much of what he/she wants. Can keep going comprehensibly, even though pausing for grammatical land lexical planning and repair is very evident, especially in longer stretches of free production.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
