This is an exciting time to join our diverse team here at North Yorkshire Council as an Early Years Sufficiency Planning Officer.
Do you want to make a difference daily helping children and families and play a vital role in helping young children reach their potential? This could be the role for you.
This is a brand-new role where you will support the statutory duties to ensure there are sufficient early years education and childcare places available because of the government’s expansion of the government funded childcare entitlement for working parents. You will be required to identify areas within our vast geographical county where expansion of current provision or new provision is required due to parental demand. You will also monitor and support the ever-changing childcare market.
This is a role where collaboration is key as you will be working closely with other local authority services such as Inclusion, SEND, Early Years Funding, Public Health as well as with early years providers, schools and external organisations.
You will need to have an understanding of:
· Current legislation and policies relevant to Early Years education and childcare
· Experience working with families
· Experience of monitoring and improving service quality
· The ability to meet objectives and deliver targets
For further information or an informal discussion regarding the role please contact Helen Smith Early Years Strategy Manager via email on Helen.Smith@northyorks.gov.uk
We look forward to hearing from you.
