It is important to us that Hull is a great place to be a child and grow up; a place of opportunity where young people can live happy and productive lives and a place where young people will want to live and work in the future.

At Hull City Council we are committed to our children and young people and we are passionate about how we deliver services to them. That’s why we nurture a culture that puts our children and young people at the heart of everything we do - by empowering our workforce to work together to find solutions, to be open, honest, and respectful, to take responsibility and listen and learn from others.

We are looking for 1 Full Time, Team Manager to join our permanent staff team in EHASH, in the Integrated Front Door, responsible for supporting a skilled and experienced team of social workers and unqualified workers. You will be working in a co located partnership team alongside Police, Health, Domestic Abuse Partnership, Renew, Adult Safeguarding and VEMT (Vulnerable, Exploited, Missing and Trafficked) Team. This post also involves jointly managing with the other Front Door managers our EDT Team, this involves an element of flexible working once per month for supervision purposes and twice a year for attendance on a rota for EDT Team Meetings (there is no weekend working or late shifts).

We are looking for committed, motivated and child focussed individuals who want to join our service and help us deliver excellent, high-quality innovative services.  You will have good knowledge and understanding of children’s safeguarding work so that you can provide clear management oversight and effective decision making in order to meet our children’s needs in a timely way, ensuring that the best outcomes are achieved.  Performance management is essential, and you will need to demonstrate clear strategies to ensure progress is made in all areas. An ability to challenge effectively and support the workforce enabling them to deliver excellent practice whilst prioritising competing demands is essential. You will also need to manage and coordinate work activities in line with the service priorities, along with developing effective partnership arrangements with all appropriate stakeholders, always with the children and family’s needs at the heart of your practice.

You’ll need a degree or diploma in Social Work, Full Social Work England registration and a proven ability to work in partnership with children, young people, parents, carers, and partners.

We are keen to recruit those who have successful experience in a similar role or are ready to take the next step in their social work career.
