Are you a student and studying either nursing/teaching/social work? Do you have a passion working with children? Do you want to make a difference to children’s lives and gain valuable work experience?
We are keen to here from people who have an interest in working with children with a variety of needs, and we would also welcome applications from students who are studying that are able to work across a variety of our children’s centres in Nidderdale (near Harrogate), Scarborough or Northallerton.
We work closely with families and other professionals to ensure that we have sound knowledge of the children we are caring for and are able to meet their diverse range of needs, interests and backgrounds. We focus on the strengths and positive attributes of the children to encourage the growth of self-esteem and empowerment and support them to develop to their full potential.

At times this role may be challenging but you will be supported through a comprehensive programme which ensures new recruits have a thorough induction which includes training, shadowing experienced staff and competency testing. An extensive review of performance and capability takes place during the probation period for new starters. This makes sure staff are safe and ready to take on their roles in caring for children and young people.
This role is working a variety of shifts Monday to Sunday, this will include evenings and weekends. We offer Short Breaks for children and young people but we also run Holiday Clubs, an Outreach service in Skipton, go on lots of residential holidays and run a fully accessible festival every year!
