We are looking to recruit a Practice Manager to join the Youth Justice Team within the Children and Families Service – Early Help to be based at Harrogate. Early Help works alongside children, young people (up to the age of 19, 25 years when there is an identified SEND needs), and their families.
Our work is strengths based and underpinned by our ‘Strength in Relationships’ practice model where we work alongside other relevant agencies to ensure we support young people and their families to create their own sustainable plans that really make a difference. We provide interventions to children, young people and their families, drawing on their strengths and helping to build support networks as well as statutory work for those open to Children’s Social Care and Youth Justice.
The North Yorkshire Youth Justice team https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/children-and-families/north-yorkshire-youth-justice-service is an established and successful countywide multi-agency partnership, responsible for preventing youth crime and reducing re-offending. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing front-line service delivery across the full range of youth justice casework and will need to demonstrate high standards of professional judgement and leadership.
A key role will be multi agency working across the spectrum of Children and Families Services to build on the effective integration of the Service. You will also have opportunities to explore new areas of practice, including Signs of Safety, Family Finding and Systemic Practice.
You will manage specific staff and represent at our Youth Outcomes Panel focussing on early intervention, reparation and volunteer development, victim liaison work and case work services within the West locality, as well as contributing to the development of services and practice standards across the countywide service. This is an excellent opportunity to bring your management skills and experience into a multi-disciplinary service.
Applicants must hold a degree in a relevant subject or have a relevant professional qualification e.g. Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, Diploma in Probation Studies/Youth & Community Work a professional qualification in either probation or social work and have significant post-qualifying experience. You must demonstrate experience of multi-disciplinary working in a community and/or family context.
