We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and innovative Team Manager to be part of an established and experienced management team, with a Good Ofsted rating, to support us in our next steps to achieve our ambitions for children and young people in Rotherham.  We are committed to making sure that every child makes the best start in life and we are striving to become a child-centered borough and underpinned by the ‘Rotherham Family Approach’.

First Response service is usually families and our partners first experience of Rotherham Children’s service.  It oversees the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub, as well as the duty teams who undertake the initial assessment work.  We therefore strive to ensure that children get the right support at the right time.  The team of managers, and social workers work across both parts of the service, in a structured way, strengthening their skills and ensuring a resilient service.

We will listen. We will act. We will do the right things for the right reasons. Will you?

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Team Manager with experience of working within a MASH and/or duty and assessment service who is looking to work in a restorative environment, alongside a team of skilled managers and partners.  We want a Team Manager who keeps children at the focus of their decision making and is able to support their teams to do the same, focusing on achieving better outcomes for children.  We are looking for a Team Manager who is a leader with good technical knowledge around threshold decision making; assessment work; managing risk; safeguarding processes; and working with partners.  We are looking for a Team Manager to be a ‘critical friend’ to the team, combining high challenge and high support to promote reflective practice and a continual learning environment.  We are confident that we will be able to offer you a rewarding opportunity in every sense.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for a team of Social Workers and be at the forefront of the delivery of our safeguarding practice. You will play a vital role in building on our learning, quality assurance and performance culture - providing leadership, direction and support that is rewarding in every sense, for every individual.
