Salary: £56,433 to £64,951 per annum 

Grade: SM1

Contract: Permanent 

Hours: Full time 

Location: Based at County Hall Northallerton, covering Hambleton, Richmondshire and Selby

Weekend Working: No 


We very much promote flexible working with the ability to work remotely from a variety of bases as well as on occasions from home, to ensure we provide the best service to the Children we work with and their families.  There is a service expectation to work a minimum of 2 days a week in a local office.

Salary: £56,433 - £64,951 per annum pro rata in addition a minimum commitment of £5k training and development, in the first year alone, which will include Signs of Safety, Family Finding Model and Systemic Practice + a relocation package of up to £8k

Our practice model puts effective relationships with children and families at its heart.   As Group Manager of Early Help you will lead the overall development and delivery of the service in the central locality, whilst also holding a countywide portfolio, providing clear leadership to enable managers to perform at their best.  The role is an integral part of an exceptional team who strive to make a difference for the children and families of North Yorkshire.   

The role of Group Manager is dynamic and diverse, requiring a confident, autonomous individual to drive forward practice and influence stakeholders, partners and colleagues. We are looking for an innovative professional with strategic managerial experience who is driven, astute, inspirational and a great communicator. As Group Manager you will demonstrate real leadership in a challenging and evolving sector by shaping and driving the practice across the locality whilst also utilising and developing your skills and knowledge.  

 

We understand the importance of investing in our workforce, and as such you will be well supported to effectively deliver and improve services.  In addition, you will receive a minimum commitment of £5k towards your training and development in the first year alone, which will include Signs of Safety, the Family Finding model and Systemic Practice.   

You will be responsible for the management of significant financial resources and ensure that the service delivers within nationally defined regulations and standards. In addition, you will have a sound knowledge of the Ofsted Inspection Framework, and a good understanding of the diverse needs of children and their families. An understanding of Youth Justice Services, Supporting Families and Reducing Parental Conflict  would be advantageous.  

There are significant challenges facing Children’s Services nationally. However, North Yorkshire has a record of facing challenge with innovation and creativity and seeks transformational approaches which maintain and improve services to children and their families. We are currently in the process of delivering a beyond 2020 North Yorkshire change project, which is an ambitious programme to maintain the highest quality of services which reflect the changing needs of society.
