Applicants will need to evidence their ability to work with this diverse group of children and knowledge of issues that arise for disabled people would be desirable. You will need to demonstrate your commitment to child centred care, and have the ability to embrace the challenge of, and recognise the rewards gained from supporting young people with diverse, complex needs. The children in our care require a high level of support you must be able to provide help with eating, bathing and intimate personal care. You must also have the ability to move and handle frail and vulnerable children according to their individual care needs. You will receive training to undertake these tasks.
You must demonstrate the ability and desire to work as part of a team which strives to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people, their families and the service. You must be able to evidence your skills in relationship building, communication, nurturing and caring for children, engaging with families and carers and other professionals, supporting inclusion and participation. Record keeping, homemaking tasks and domestic duties are also part of this role

The home operates on a flexible 24 hour rota, which includes weekends, unsociable hours, sleeping in duties and bank holidays (including Christmas and New year), which are paid at enhanced rates of pay.
You will be expected to hold the QCF Residential Diploma (level 3) or an equivalent qualification, or demonstrate the ability to achieve the diploma within 2 years of appointment.
2 x positions: 1 x 30.75 hours and 1 x 24 hours
