Salary: £50,608 – £53,694 per annum, 37 hours per week, permanent
As the Team Manager you will be responsible in continuing to drive forward our focus on achieving permanence and stability. Our values at Calderdale are to Care, Create, Innovate and Improve and as part of the wider locality management team we will support you and work together as we continue to focus on improving the outcomes and life chances for our looked after children.
Systemic practice lies at the heart of our vision to a continuing improvement journey. With this vision we work in small ‘pods’ each consisting of four social workers being lead by a Practice Manager. Within the North and East Child Protection Team there are four ‘pods’, three located in Halifax Town centre and the fourth pod is located in Elland town centre.
As the Team Manager you will be required to promote and lead a culture of professional responsibility, accountability, learning and continuous improvement as well as ensure the achievement of performance targets relevant to this service area and ensure that appropriate and timely decisions are made concerning the management of the team, staff development, priorities and allocation of the work resources.
You will also work closely within a small management team of leaders across the locality service, that will provide peer support and shared leadership across the locality service.
The successful applicant will have a demonstrable understanding of the interface between operational and strategic management in a children’s social care context as well as experience of assessing risk and needs of children and families.
Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification, a recognised management qualification and be registered with the Social Worker England.

Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
