North Yorkshire Council have a national reputation for excellence and we are looking for Social Workers with a variety of experience and skills.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join North Yorkshire’s Multi Agency Screening Team. MAST was created in Oct 2014, consisting of Social Workers, Social Work Managers, Early Help, Business Support, North Yorkshire Police and Safeguarding Health professionals. MAST offer a hybrid working arrangement which predominantly consists of home working.
About The Role
It is expected that the applicant will be able to work from County Hall when required including at least 2-4 times per month.
The Social Worker role is vital within MAST, tasks including screening of contacts, decision making, attending and presenting information at Group Screening meetings and working closely with multiagency partners. Our practice model is designed to work on keeping children safe and families together, with the right intervention at the right time in the right place.
Whilst the post holder is responsible for screening and decision making of day to day referrals, there are opportunities to develop specialist interests and portfolios to support the constant development of the team. The successful applicant will possess fully qualified accredited social work professional status, social work experience, understanding of the Signs of Safety model and thrive in a fast paced office environment.
It is a criminal offence for people who are barred from working in Regulated Activity (under the Safeguarding and Vulnerable Groups Act 2006) to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with adults at risk.
We are committed to the inclusion, safeguarding, and promoting the welfare of adults at risk.
Post holders are subject to employment clearances to meet Baseline Personnel Security Standards (link) which includes identity, employment history, right to work, time spent abroad and unspent criminal record (basic DBS) vetting.
