Job description

Are you interested in becoming an Adoption Team Manager within the Regional Adoption Agency – One Adoption South Yorkshire? This is an exciting time to join and is a perfect opportunity to lead a team of experienced social workers within the adoption service. The Adoption service spans four local authorities, Doncaster, Barnsley, Sheffield and Rotherham. Your base will be in Barnsley but you will work with colleagues across the other three Local Authorities to provide a high quality adoption service for the children, adopters and prospective adopters within the region. The role will allow the successful applicant to be able to participate in the development and improvement of adoption services across the region.

ABOUT YOU

You will have extensive experience of Adoption at Advanced Practitioner or Team Manager Level.
You will be able to take a key role in planning and improving adoption services. 
You will be used to undertaking workload and caseload reviews. 
You will be empathetic and sensitive to the needs of those reporting to you. 
You will know how to measure and monitor to ensure everyone performs at their best. 
You will be robust enough to deal with complaints or incidents diplomatically. 
You will be an influential negotiator when dealing with potential conflict. 
You will have a knack for communicating complex messages in a straightforward way. 
You will not be afraid to think outside the box to solve problems. 
You will be capable of making decisions even when there is uncertainty. 
You will see the big picture and be open to working with others. 
You will be passionate about maximising a child’s life chances.
