We’re excited to be recruiting Children’s Social Workers here in Barnsley, the place of possibilities! There are lots of great things about working for Barnsley Council, but don’t just take our word for it. Visit our dedicated webpage to hear from our social workers, our Executive Director, and learn more about the role and Children’s Services: www.barnsley.gov.uk/services/jobs/social-worker-jobs/.
We’re a council that prioritises Children’s Services, and we want every child in the borough to achieve their full potential, to be safe and happy. We're looking to recruit highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed professional social workers to join our Children and Young People Team in Cudworth. We highly value the work of our Social Workers and following significant investment we have increased the management support to Social Workers at both Team Manager and Advanced Practitioner level. In the CYPT service, we have expanded our teams from 6 to 8, which reflects our commitment to support and develop our workforce; creating smaller teams where social work practice can flourish.
We are deeply committed to achieving the very best outcomes for vulnerable children and young people in Barnsley. Children and their families are at the centre of all that we do, and our practice is underpinned by a strength based and relational model. This means supporting our social workers to develop relationships and to really know and understand children; to have the support to produce excellent assessment and analytical skills; apply evidence-based interventions and direct work. To develop the confidence and skills to make timely decisions and plans for children that will achieve positive and sustainable outcomes for their future.
We are an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ authority and remain highly aspirational to deliver ‘even better’ services and outcomes for children, young people, and their families in the borough.
