Social Worker Children in Care (CIC)

Full Time 37 Hours

Permanent

Grade 8/9 Up to £39,513 - plus potential market forces supplement depending upon experience

Here at Doncaster Council our Children in Care service is centralised and covers the whole of the Doncaster area.

With a permanent leadership team and the continued development of a supportive, innovative personal development culture, we are on a clear journey to improve services for children, young people and families in Doncaster.

As part of this journey, we are continuing to strengthen our social work teams with individuals who are passionate about developing and delivering the innovations and quality of service we believe the communities of Doncaster deserve and are currently looking for a Social Worker on a full-time permanent basis to work as part of the Children in Care Service.

Our social workers carry a caseload of children in care, where care is the agreed plan.  Our children live within a variety of settings and some of our children live outside of the Doncaster area – therefore travelling out of borough maybe needed.  We are also a 0-18 service, working alongside our leaving care services to ensure children transition into adulthood with robust plans for the future.

Social Workers, within the CIC service, will be required to undertake statutory visits to children in care; chair meetings in relation to children’s care plans and provide support, advice and guidance to carers in relation to the children they are working with. The work requires a practitioner who is child centred and able to build strong professional relationships with children, young people and families.

The successful candidate will be able to contribute to the continued good performance of the team in relation to the timeliness and quality of their practice.

Social Workers are required to have a professional social work qualification and be fully registered with Social Work England.
