An exciting opportunity has arisen within Adult Social Care for a Team Manager to be appointed within the Community Team. This is a permanent post. We also have a temporary Team Manager post to cover a colleague’s maternity leave, for a period of 7 months.
The post holders will be responsible for providing leadership and operational management to an established Social Work Team in Adult Social Care.
The successful candidates will assist the Head of Operations and Partnerships to provide leadership, direction and professional oversight on all issues relating to Adult Social Care.
You will be part of a supportive and skilled group of Team Managers who provide day-to-day management and support to our frontline social work teams.
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and has the relevant knowledge and experience in working with Adults, including legislation, practice and procedures. You will be passionate about high standards and quality of practice which in turn will lead to good outcomes for the people of York. This is a key appointment in helping us to achieve our vision of promoting independence, building on strengths and
placing individuals at the heart of everything we do.
You will possess a working knowledge of legislative and statutory requirements, as well as an ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with relevant key partners in Health and Social Care, Police and Housing, amongst others.
You will have excellent communication skills and be familiar with Performance Management and analysis as well as team planning and evaluation activities. You will be skilled in providing supervision and appraisal to individuals and teams and you will have working experience of promoting strengths-based and asset-based practice.
You will have a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the Safeguarding Adults agenda and will be highly skilled in Risk Management.
You may have previous experience of leadership and management, but this is not imperative; a willingness to undertake relevant training and a commitment to continuous professional development is essential.
