Job description

The Vacancy

Are you a qualified and registered Social Worker who has experience of working in statutory Children’s Services Social Work and has the skills, knowledge and experience required to effectively chair multi-agency meetings and develop effective plans to meet the needs of children and families?

Do you have high aspirations for children and families?

Do you have a commitment to ensuring that children are at the heart of planning and decision-making and that meaningful participation of children, young people, their parents, carers and wider family members drives effective practice?

If so, North Lincolnshire has an opportunity for an Independent Conference and Reviewing Officer with a lead role for the chairing of Child Protection Conferences.

The successful candidate will be a qualified and registered Social Worker who is able to demonstrate an advanced professional knowledge of legislation, procedure and guidance related to child protection, children in need and children in care and who has the ability to make and contribute effectively to complex decisions affecting the safety, wellbeing and quality of life of children and young people. 

Experience of working in a social care setting which has included direct work with service users, and experience of supervising or mentoring other workers will be essential. 

Excellent communication and networking skills will be essential as will be the ability to work in partnership with a range of stakeholders and the ability to develop and lead effective partnership working.
