This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an advanced teaching assistant to make a significant contribution to our learners with an Education, Health and Care Plan attending the Personalised Learning Pathways Hub.
Personalised Learning College enable young people to access local learning opportunities which will lead to community participation, and wherever possible independent living, employment or preparation for adulthood.
This will be achieved by collaborating with the young person to develop clear learning aims and objectives which will empower individuals with the skills, confidence and challenge to be successful in adult life.
Personalised Learning Pathways is a person-centred programme which supports the young person to develop, and progress based on a clear understanding of their personal needs and aspirations.
You will work under the direction of the class teacher, to help plan and deliver learning opportunities designed around the individual and focusing on three pathways; personal progress, independence and employment.
You will support a young people to achieve their Individual Learning targets; sometimes providing personal care as required with medical needs. You will typically work with groups of learners, under the supervision of a qualified teacher to support learners with a variety of educational opportunities (indoor or outdoor work based environments), work autonomously as appropriate in the community and at times conducting on the spot risk assessments and dealing with individual medical needs of learners and the ability to work independently in the community.
You do not need to have qualifications to be an Advanced Teaching Assistant, you can have the experience and values that the service needs to enable you to carry out the role effectively and we can support you with achieving the relevant qualifications.
