Job description

This post is open to Bradford Council Employees and non-employees. 

It is an exciting time to join us in Bradford Children’s Services.  We have a strong Senior Leadership Team who are focused and have a clear vision to embed quality of practice across the Bradford District. Children are at the heart of everything we do.  We are and continue to embed Trauma informed, relationship based practice with focus on the Strengths based model, working with key partners across the district within our work with families and we have a clear model of care for the children and young people we look after.

The Role you would be coming to do:
The teams undertake provider assessments and match children to placements based on assessed needs from the area Social Work Teams.  This is a joined up approach to ensure appropriate placements for children are identified and assessed in a timely manner to reduce drift and delay.  You will be dealing with requests for placements which require completion within timescales led by both regulations and court timetabling. 

The person we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who has experience of social work with children and families, and quality assuring the delivery of services to Bradford’s children in care. You need to ensure that the child/young person’s needs are matched to appropriate placements.  You need to be highly professional, be able to receive and screen referrals, understanding a child’s needs and the availability of resources to meet these, liaising with other colleagues, partners and external placement providers to ensure detailed assessment, matching and prioritising.
