Following the progression of the current post holder a vacancy has arisen in our Children in care Service for a dedicated Service Manager responsible for Provider Services. This portfolio includes our Fostering service, Residential Service, Rotherham Pause and Rotherham’s Therapeutic Team. In addition, the post holder will also act as a link officer for the Rotherham arm of the Local Regional Adoption agency. You will report to the head of service for Children in Care.
As one of two Service Managers in Children In care you will work closely with the LAC and Leaving Care Service manager to support the provision of homes and support for all children looked after by Rotherham. This includes providing leadership, direction, and support to your staff to deliver on Rotherham’s vision– Our children: resilient* successful*. safe*.
You will oversee the work of the teams ensuring that the services work in line with regulations linked to Fostering, Residential and Adoption. As a Service Manager you’ll be instrumental in shaping the development of your service area.
So, we need an individual who can lead from the front and promote our vision / values through our established Rotherham Family approach. A ‘can do’ dynamic approach will be required to enable you to drive forward new initiatives with great passion, dedication, and conviction.

This post is classed as 'politically restricted' under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended). From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2024 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year.
