We are looking to appoint an experienced, knowledgeable and skilled leader who is passionate about making a difference to support young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
As Designated Social Care Officer - SEND you will:
Have oversight across social care services for EHC needs assessment, planning and review processes; providing information and advice; the local offer.
Ensure social care services are reflected in the local offer; coordinating EHC assessments with other social care assessments (CIN/CP/LAC reviews etc.); understanding thresholds for social care support.
Engage in strategic development. Joint commissioning; integration of services; participation and engagement of families, including role modelling joint working and maintaining meaningful dialogue and coproduction with partners, children, young people and families.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
