Personalised Learning Pathways enable young people to access local learning opportunities which will lead to community participation, and wherever possible independent living and/or employment.
This will be achieved by identifying with the learner clear learning aims and objectives which will empower individuals with the skills, confidence and challenge to be successful in adult life.
Personalised Learning Pathways is a person-centred programme which supports the young person to develop and progress based on a clear understanding of their personal needs and aspirations.
You will be a teacher with demonstrable experience of working with learners with Special Educational needs and Disability, aged 16 to 25. We are looking for someone who can teach to the following programmes; Personal Progress, Independence and Employability. The core elements of this personalised approach are communication skills including Functional Skills English, Maths and ICT, personal and social development, life skills and employability skills.
Your programmes of learning will be designed to support learners in developing effective strategies and key skills to meet the challenges of increasing independence and progression into employment or further learning, into adulthood within their local community.
Your lessons will be person-centred, which will allow learners to develop and progress using their preferred learning methods. Teaching will be highly differentiated with a focus on providing learning and development opportunity specific to the learners needs. You will be able to capture progression in multiple forms and in multiple degrees.
The successful candidate will work in closely with the Hub Coordinator and other teaching staff to deliver the Personalised Learning Pathways programmes to learners in Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale.
Interview Information:
The interview is face to face and will be held at North Yorkshire House on Scalby Road, Scarborough.
You are being asked to plan and prepare a one hour teaching session on “Community and Responsibility”
You will not deliver the lesson, please be prepared to talk through your lesson plan and the resources you have prepared.
Attached is an anonymised group profile.
Prepare a lesson to be delivered to a group of learners with the attached profile.
The session will be one hour in duration.
Plan a Personal skills development lesson about “Community and Responsibility”.
Points to consider – The importance of community and people's responsibilities.
Bring with you evidence that you have planned the session and the handouts and resources you would use (three copies).
Please be aware you will not have access to ICT equipment.
Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure is required for appointment to this post.
