Here at Doncaster Council our Placements Service is responsible for caring and supporting our children in care through fostering, adoption and in our homes.

Doncaster Council is currently expanding its residential service, which will include smaller homes to run alongside our larger 4 bed homes and as a result we are currently looking for experienced children’s home managers for our homes.
You must have extensive experience of working with children in care in a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager role in a residential setting. You must have the skills and experience set out in the children’s home regulations to meet fit person criteria. We want the best for children and young people, ensuring we provide care, support and consistency that supports children to grow and develop. The voice and experiences of children is central to our work. We want you to be able to nurture and celebrate our children’s successes and provide guidance and support when they find things are tough. You will have previous experience of supervision and management of care staff.
As the Registered Manager you will have day to day responsibility for the home, and be able to understand high quality care, impact and quality assurance, managing and monitoring of budgets. You will be able to manage, support and develop a team to ensure they demonstrate the vision and goals of the organisation. You must have excellent leadership, management skills and strong good organisational skills. You will have recent experience of managing or working in a 'good' or ‘outstanding' home and have passion, drive, resilience and ambition to maintain and exceed expectations for children.
You must have up-to-date knowledge of Childcare legislation, Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards and Children's Homes Regulations 2015. As the Registered Manager, you will lead and manage the residential childcare team and oversee delivery of care plans, risk assessments and behavioural management plans for young people. You will ensure that the home meets the standards and expectations of its Statement of Purpose; and promote safeguarding and welfare of children.
