Based in the Yorkshire market town of Skipton, Skipton Music Centre aim to place itself in the heart of all things musical in the area. SMC is part of the North Yorkshire Music Service.
Skipton Music Centre runs on a Saturday morning and is home to a number of different ensembles and groups. Our latest offering are group beginner lessons, which have proved very popular. To help support and develop these group lessons we are looking for the following.
Brass Specialist - To teach beginner brass lessons and conduct the beginner band. A high level of specialist knowledge is required, along with a passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, giving them the best possible start to their musical journeys. This post is for 3.5 hours per week (Saturday mornings 09.00-12.30) 30 weeks per year, term time only.
Woodwind Specialist - To teach Woodwind instruments (Sax, Clarinet & Flute) in beginner group lessons. A high level of specialist knowledge is required alongside a passion for working with young people and a desire to see them reach their potential. This post is for 1.75 hours per week (Saturday mornings) 30 weeks per year. Currently lessons run from 09.30-11.00.
