We are looking for Social Workers with a ‘can do’ attitude who are child focussed, like to think outside of the box and are creative in their planning with children.  It does not matter whether you are starting out in your social work career, returning to practice or an experienced worker looking for a new challenge in either a different field or new authority. North Yorkshire County Council covers a wide area with teams in all districts, shortly to become North Yorkshire Council in April 2023.

The Area

Selby is a small market town right in the heart of Yorkshire, meaning its really well connected with easy links to Leeds, York, Hull, Northallerton with the Coast and National Parks in easy reach. The Selby district is a great place because there is a fantastic mix of market towns and picturesque villages.

The house prices are lower than neighbouring urban areas, which means people get more for their money. This means the area usually attract families, which helps to grow the local workforce and the overall population to support local retailers, services and industries.

We welcome individuals looking to relocate, for further information please see our Relocation Policy.
