Multiply Engagement and Delivery Officer

Location: Hambleton/ Ryedale area - Flexible hybrid working hours

Grade: I

Salary: From £32,076 up to £35,745 per annum pro rata

Contract: Full Time

Contract: Fixed Term until April 2025

Multiply is an initiative that aims to improve the use of mathematical skills in daily life for those people aged 19+ who do not hold a formal maths qualification. North Yorkshire Council and City of York authority received over £3m worth of funding up to April 2025  to engage with residents and work with partners to provide a comprehensive education and engagement offer to improve maths skills, to support residents to understand how maths can support with household budgeting, health and wellbeing and enhance career development.

 

Multiply will be delivered by a number of key partners, including this small specific Multiply team, the NYC Adult Learning and Skills Service, York Learning, FE colleges and Training providers and organisations from within the voluntary and community sector. These roles will support the delivery of the vision for the Multiply project ensuring effective resident engagement and effective signposting to partner activities and further progression opportunities.

 

Working closely with the partnership and learner engagement teams within North Yorkshire and York adult learning teams and with engagement teams within partner organisations you will be at the forefront of activities that will engage individuals with

 

·       maths and finance related fun activities

·       short bite size interventions

·       cost of living based roadshows and workshops

 

If you are a great communicator, motivator and team player, skilled in working with new and existing partners within community based activities then these roles could be a perfect match. You will be part of a countywide team supporting the communities of York and North Yorkshire to access a range of opportunities across the County and you must be able to travel to support this approach.

 

Whilst this post is advertised with a specific base (e.g. Northallerton), North Yorkshire is a modern council, the roles offer the opportunity to work flexibly at alternative locations across our office bases within York and North Yorkshire as well as home working. Flexible hybrid working hours allow for a positive work/life balance. This role will include occasional evening and weekend working. 

 

We are seeking an individual with the ability to work out in the local community and with a range of individuals to:

 

·       form direct relationships with individual learners who have potential barriers that impact upon being able to identify appropriate learning programmes or to access them

·       provide appropriate and effective information, advice and guidance to learners, supporting their progression into further provision across the partnership

·       engage and deliver personalised one to one and small group bite-sized maths related sessions, including financial awareness, to people aged 19+ without formal maths qualifications

·       engage with and co-design with employers, other providers and community groups programmes that improve maths skills

·       be solution-focussed 

·       to work independently and as part of a team

·       be conscientious, well organised and flexible in your approach
