An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Participation Officer to join a high performing team dedicated to representing children and young people’s voice including the children’s advocacy team.
Within this role, you will work directly with children, young people and families in a variety of forums to support them to share their voice, experiences and ideas. You will be responsible for leading and organising dedicated forums for children, young people and families, including the North Lincolnshire Children in Care Council. Within the role you will work to make sure that there are robust mechanisms in place for their voice and experiences to be shared and valued.

As a Participation Officer you have an important and unique role in children and young people’s lives, raising their aspirations, supporting their development and confidence. You will be proactive, innovative and driven to lead different projects that will provide meaningful opportunities ensuring voice is heard across North Lincolnshire Council.
The post holder will effectively and meaningfully support children and young people to represent their views and advocate for things that work well and support any areas for change and improvement to ensure they have access to the right level of support.
The successful candidate will be confident in delivering high quality relational practice that supports children, young people and families to share their views and experience. You will be energetic and enthusiastic, as well as empathetic. You will have experience of working directly with and engaging children and young people, have a good understanding of child development and the things that matter and make a difference to children and young people.
The post holder will work their contracted hours flexibly to accommodate the needs of children and young people for example consultation and other voice events often take place after 5pm and on some weekends.
