About us:

Bradford Children and Families Trust was established in April this year to bring a step change in the quality and delivery of Children’s Services across our district.

Our purpose is clear - to ensure that our promise to improve the lives of children and young people in Bradford becomes a reality. It’s a tough ask. It requires dedication, determination, and resilience – but under a new Chief Executive, Senior Leadership team and an unswerving drive to deliver the best outcomes, we are confident that we will achieve our ambition.

Working for the Bradford Children and Families Trust offers the opportunity to work with some great people who are passionate about delivering change in a city whose culture offers as much diversity as it’s geography. You can make a real difference to families and children and be an active part in delivering the service Bradford families should receive.

About the role:

Bradford wants to improve its service for children who go missing and make sure that it is safe, responsive, robust, and capable of meeting the challenges of working with this demanding group. The Missing Senior will play a key role in overseeing the services to missing children ensuring that all such incidents are properly recorded and that designated services complete return interviews and follow up work.

You will provide a single point of contact for the police ensuring that every missing child incident is picked up and receives an appropriate response. You would also be expected to work with partner agencies to secure improvements in the response to children who go missing.

You will be expected to work alongside colleagues with the Child Exploitation and Missing Hub to ensure that the service to children who go missing meets all regulatory requirements and become an acknowledged centre of excellence.

The role is flexible to meet the needs of the children and families, there is the expectation of one day on a weekend out of every month (rota basis supported by EDT) and some evening working along with occasional bank holidays when required for service needs. The working pattern is Mon-Friday between the hours 7am and 10pm a flexible working contract. Hybrid working is an option, however there is an expectation the role will be predominately office based, working alongside colleagues in the Hub as we are co-located with partners (police, health, and education).

About You

  • At least 3 years’ experience working with vulnerable families in a social care setting.

  • Level four qualification or above, For example:

  • NVQ level 4 Health and Social Care

  • CSS, Degree in Youth and Community Work

  • Diploma L5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services

  • A driving licence and access to a car with Business Insurance, unless a disability prevents this.
