We are on an ambitious journey and are looking for a passionate and committed Service Manager to lead our Front Door ensuring best practice and good outcomes for children and families.
As the Service Manager you will be required to demonstrate professional expertise and leadership skills, to inspire and create the conditions that will enable practitioners to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people and families.
Key Responsibilities
Provide line management/supervision to the Team Managers, who manage the Front Door Social Workers and Early support Consultants.
Ensure timely and appropriate responses to contacts and referrals. You will be responsible for ensuring social work and social care practice is in line with legislation and best practice.
You will have responsibility in ensuring that practitioners are provided with opportunities to develop their skills and to embed a culture of Continuous Professional Development within Children’s Service.
As a strategic change manager/leader, you will be instrumental in the shaping and commissioning of services and will lead on identifying ways of improving outcomes for children and families developing creative solutions, responding to changes in legislation and practice.
You will have a key role in monitoring both individual and team performance and will have responsibility for overseeing the completion of audits, analysing information and putting in place any required strategies for improvement.
Developing critical partnerships across the Council and with key partners to deliver seamless services across boundaries taking a whole system approach is also key to this job.
A proven track record in managing employees, budgets and performance.
You will have a strong understanding of what best practice looks like and be passionate about inspiring and improving children’s lives, as well as the continuous professional development of practitioners. A creative and flexible approach to work and the drive and motivation to continuously improve our services are key in enabling us to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.

You must hold a Social Work England (SWE) recognised Social Work Qualification and be registered with SWE.
