City of Doncaster Council’s fostering service is on an exciting journey of improvement. Constantly striving to enable our carers to provide warm and loving homes to the most vulnerable children who we look after.  We work hard to provide an excellent service for our children and young people, and aim to make sure they feel safe, secure and meet their full potential. We have a well-established management group who ensure our staff are well supported in the delivery of their role, and a well-established staff team.

We are currently seeking to recruit two new fostering social workers; one within the kinship team and one for our mainstream fostering team. These roles entail visiting foster carers to ensure they continue to meet the National Minimum Standards for Fostering, providing support and supervision, contributing to care planning for children and young people, ensuring children are safeguarded, assessing and training foster carers and undertaking connected carer assessments with kinship foster cares.

You will have at least three years post qualifying experience in children’s social work, preferably with experience of working within a fostering service, however this is not essential.
