This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to further develop the breadth of their practice expertise in Youth Justice in a high achieving service in a role that combines the management and oversight of complex cases, a position of relative seniority amongst peers, and an expectation to provide leadership, most notably in guiding others in relation to their substantive service area of expertise - social work.  To this end, we are seeking an individual who is able to drive service and partnership responses to exploitation and other safeguarding challenges, and is able to evidence a track-record of working effectively to reduce risks posed to and by both children and adults.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in service improvement, leading on innovative practice and identifying key themes and areas of work to help other develop their knowledge and skills to drive excellent practice. You will have a breadth of experience of completing formal written assessments to a high standard and of developing effective plans with children and families.  You will need a range of analytical skills to manage and balance both the risk and vulnerability of young people and families we work with which will be demonstrated across your practice. The ability to quickly form and maintain productive relationships with service users and professionals is vital to this role.

We are seeking applications from candidates who thrive in highly pressured and challenging environments; who have a well-developed professional competency as a leader and achiever; and who have experience of supporting service users along delivery on a journey of improvement.  This role will suit a determined individual who seeks the opportunity to work with children and families, and partners interventions with the acknowledgement the service has a Child First approach that advocates and positively endorses the building of relationships as the foundation for positive change.

Key attributes include experience in building resourceful relationships with complex adolescents, their families/carers and the ability to lead a team of professionals in devising bespoke and focused multi-agency plans of intervention in order to improve the lives of the service users and meet the other core aims of reducing reoffending and protecting the public from harm.

If you are a social worker who relishes an exciting challenge in a fast paced and supportive environment, we’d like to hear from you!
