Job description

Are you passionate about improving the standard and quality of foster care provision for children looked after? Then this could be the job for you.                                                

We are looking for a Part- time Fostering Reviewing Officer (3 days per week) to join our Independent Reviewing Service.                    

This is a key role in independently assuring the quality of care foster carers registered by Sheffield city council provide for Sheffield children. The Fostering Reviewing Officer will consider the recommendation for the continued registration of Foster Carers, identify and challenge areas of poor practice and high light areas of good practice for Foster carers and children and young people’s services.                           

The suitable candidate will be a professionally qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England and with preference for a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.  Evidence of work at managerial level would be beneficial.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
