Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Support Team Leader to provide exceptional leadership and ensure the effective management of our Business Support function in childrens services. This role requires a proactive, can do individual who can deliver high-level business support, manage complex issues, and guide our team towards achieving excellence.

 

You will:

·         Provide direction and coordination of workloads, support staff development, and handle recruitment, motivation, training, welfare, and discipline issues.

·         Continuously review and evaluate service provision to ensure it meets relevant legislation and service priorities, driving continuous improvement.

·         Assist in establishing Service Delivery Models and strategy development related to working practices.

·         Liaise, negotiate, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior managers, employees, and the public.

·         Operate within a performance management framework, setting and monitoring targets, and addressing areas of poor performance.

·         Lead on project work and research, providing complex data analysis and reports.

·         Prepare and present detailed and complex reports to a range of audiences.

·         Design, monitor, and evaluate internal operating models and information systems, ensuring the efficient functioning of the service and proper handling of confidential information.

·         Build and maintain a network of contacts to improve service delivery and ensure high-quality business support.

·         Authorize and monitor expenditure, ensuring accurate payments to suppliers and recovery of income from customers.

·         Develop and maintain knowledge of local and national regulations, policies, and procedures impacting service delivery.

 

 What you will need:

·         Level 5 in Business Administration or equivalent qualification.

·         Project Management Training (e.g., Prince II) or willingness to undertake training.

·         Significant experience in business management within a large organization.

·         Proven experience in organizing and coordinating resources, performance management, and working in partnership with internal and external bodies.

·         Experience in researching, report writing, delivering presentations, and budget management.

·         Experience supervising and performance managing employees
