The Minority Inclusion Support Team is a part of Early Help, which is placed within North Yorkshire County Council’s Children & Families Service.
The role of the Minority Inclusion Support Team (MIST) is to support:
children and families who arrive in North Yorkshire seeking asylum
unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC) living in supported accommodation
children and families who arrive through resettlement schemes, including Homes for Ukraine, Afghan resettlement programmes and the UK Resettlement Scheme
Gypsies, Roma, Traveller and Showpeople (GRTS).
Positive, supportive and highly motivated individuals with experience of working directly with vulnerable children or young people and their families (ideally in an Early Help or social care setting) are encouraged to apply.
We would love to hear from candidates who can demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of the challenges facing children and families who are international new arrivals and or Gypsies, Roma and Travellers, and who have experience of successfully supporting these groups.
Although these skills and backgrounds are not essential for the posts, we would be very pleased to receive applications from individuals who are from Gypsy, Roma and Traveller backgrounds, and those who are fluent in English and can also offer another language including Dari, Pashto, Kurdish Sorani, Arabic, Ukrainian or Russian.
