This is an exciting time to join Barnsley Children and Family Social Care Service who are seeking to recruit Advanced Practitioners to join our team. There has been significant investment into children’s services in Barnsley, with a real focus on supporting our teams and social workers to deliver the best outcomes for children and young people.
We currently have an opportunity for non case holding Advanced Practitioners who will have a key role in shaping and developing social work practice within our Practice Development Hub and also within our Quality Assurance and Improvement Team.
We have a full time vacancy for an Advanced Practitioner in our newly created Practice Development Hub. In this role you will work alongside the Practice Development Manager and Principle Social Worker to develop, drive and deliver our continuous professional development and training offer for children’s social workers. In this role you will:
· Support student social workers on placement in Barnsley
· Alongside team managers, provide supervision, support and guidance to Newly Qualified social workers in their Assessed Support Year in practice
· Develop and deliver training, support learning and drive best practice across Children’s Social Care
We are also looking for a part time (0.5fte) Advanced Practitioner with specific responsibility around Quality Assurance and Improvement. Key expectations in this role will include:
· Development and implementation of a quality assurance framework, leading on a range of quality assurance activities including case file auditing and themed deep dives
· Producing written reports of findings and key messages and supporting continuous service development and improvement work. An understanding of quality assurance and improvement methodologies is desirable and most importantly you will be passionate about making a valuable contribution to achieving the very best outcomes for children and families.
· Sharing learning from quality assurance and working with colleagues to support learning and development and drive best practice
Both roles require a recognised Social Work qualification and significant post qualification experience. Please specify on your application form which post you are interested in
