The role you would be coming to do:

To ensure that Bradford’s foster carers are operating to a high standard by undertaking independent, statutory reviews of all Bradford foster carers (including foster carers providing short breaks and friends and family foster carers) ensuring that key stakeholders (foster carers, children and young people, social workers, independent reviewing officers etc) and relevant professionals across agencies are fully consulted in the reviews.

To use their expert knowledge to perform a credible quality assurance function and to identify opportunities for learning, development, improvements and the achievement and maintenance of high standards of quality and efficiency in the services provided by Bradford Children and Families Trust.

To promote positive approaches to diversity and identity within the service and across the department, providing guidance and challenge as required, implementing policy development and decision making in line with overall service and legislative requirements.

The person we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who has experience of chairing meetings and quality assuring the delivery of services to Bradford’s foster carers. You need to be able to review foster carer’s ability operate effectively. You need to ensure that the child/young person’s voice is heard and is listened to alongside all key professionals working with children and young people. You need to be highly organised. You need to be highly professional, offering high support and high challenge to the fostering teams who supervise foster carers providing homes to children in care. You need to be able to evidence a sound knowledge of local and national policies and procedures and keep up to date with research and good practice. You will also hold the following:

  • Recognised Social Work Qualification  
  • Registration with Social Work England
