Our Court Team has a vacancy for a Court Consultant; this is an exciting opportunity for you, as an experienced, qualified social worker to progress in your social work career into an area of expertise.
As a Court Consultant you will support the leadership team across Children’s Services in delivering a high-quality service to children and their families with a specific focus on work undertaken within the Public Law Outline and Public and Private Law Proceedings. With a specific focus on excellent social work practice, you will advise and act as a consultant to other social workers and managers in relation to legal statutory processes.

Key deliverables are:
To track the progression of pre-proceedings, public and private law proceedings within the Trust to ensure that there is a timely progress for children and young people.
To act as a consultant on all legal proceedings in the service ensuring that social workers and team managers are aware of their responsibilities to comply with court orders and the actions needed, ensuring the child is at the heart of decision making.
Develop new ways of working with stakeholders, supporting operational changes where necessary to improve practice.
Directly support Social Workers, Practice Supervisors and Team Managers involved in pre-proceedings and legal proceedings, quality assuring statements and care plans and support in preparing evidence for court including preparing Social Workers for giving verbal evidence in Court.
Collect and analyse data and prepare reports as requested.
About You
A qualified Social Worker with strong interpersonal skills, experienced and expert in the delivery of quality outcomes for children and young people. You have a strong record of involvement in legal proceedings. You embrace change and strive for excellent practice placing children and young people at the heart of decision making; you have experience of tackling the most complex needs with enthusiasm, drive and determination.
