Job description

We are looking to appoint a permanent Social Work Consultant in the Quality Assurance and Involvement Service specifically to mentor newly qualified children's social workers by providing support and advice during their 12 month ASYE programme. 

Candidates must be an experienced and registered senior social worker who has practice educator experience and who is able to deliver ASYE workshops and networking sessions and deliver training across the workforce.  Knowledge and experience of working with Children and Families legislation as well as public and private law proceedings is essential.   

A high level of report writing is required as well as ability to mark ASYE portfolios to required social work standards and within specific timeframes.  IT competence is essential as virtual meetings and presentations will be required.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
