Service Manager Children's Social Care

We are an ambitious Local Authority looking for a Service Manager to lead and oversee the Children and Young Peoples Teams. We are committed to continued improvement activity in driving strength based, relational and collaborative practice in our work with children, young people, and their family networks.

You will be an experienced social work professional with substantial experience in the field of child in need, child protection and public law court proceedings. You will also have an interest in developing and constantly improving services.

You will lead your teams to deliver a service where children feel safe, are consulted about their concerns, are listened to, and responded to with appropriate actions. You will be focus on outcomes for children and young people ensuring that intervention in children’s lives are timely, proportionate, and impactful.

Reporting to the Head of Service you will be part of the management team. Our services are based on timely intervention and providing quality services to improve outcomes for our children and their families. A key aspect of the role is developing critical partnerships across the Council and with key partners, e.g. health, schools and the police, to deliver seamless services across boundaries.  

We are looking for an experienced manager with a proven track record in managing employees, budgets and performance. You will have a strong understanding of what best practice looks like. We have a restorative, strengths-based approach to our work, ensuring that high quality relationships are at the heart of our intervention.
