This is a rare opportunity for an experienced practitioner to become part of our practice improvement work within the Integrated Safeguarding Unit of Leeds Children’s Services.

Do you know what it takes to be an outstanding foster carer? Could you play a part in the continuous development and improvement of foster care for Leeds children?

The role of the Fostering Reviewing Officer involves undertaking independent reviews of the Local Authority’s foster carers. As such it requires detailed knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the fostering task.

You will be one of a team of four Fostering Reviewing Officers responsible for reviewing those foster carers approved and registered by Leeds City Council.  This includes carers for children with disabilities accessing short breaks, and kinship carers.  Your reviews will be used to inform Fostering Panel decisions about continued approval of foster carers, their training and support needs.

You must hold a relevant Social Work qualification, be registered with Social Work England and an experienced social work practitioner, committed to partnership work, seeking children’s views, and delivering outstanding corporate parenting
