In East Riding we are Stronger Together: ‘You can, I can, We can’

Are you the missing piece of our jigsaw?

We are looking for an additional Team Manager within our busy and effective Children’s Safeguarding Hub. We need a qualified and registered social worker who is a confident decision maker to join our vibrant and dedicated service on our journey to excellence.

The Safeguarding Hub is the first point of contact for all potential safeguarding concerns in relation to children. You will manage a team of advanced social workers and support staff in a multiagency forum with co-located partners. You will be part of a team of managers who work together to ensure that the hub is well-resourced and supported to ensure that children receive the right service, at the right time.

We understand the importance of equipping you with the tools to build meaningful relationships and make lasting changes to those we work with and who need us most.

We support our social worker colleagues to deliver fantastic social work and champion social worker wellbeing with a strong focus on learning and development through our Stronger Together approach. Senior leaders are visible and approachable and practitioners feel valued, listened to and part of the whole service.

“It’s a fast paced environment, where you are making serious decisions in an open and positive working culture, we work together as a team and have opportunities to reflect and develop”

“Honestly and truthfully, the team is fantastic, and I feel very supported every day. Even at its busiest, both peers and management have time for you. A great service for the families of East Riding and a great place to work.”

“What really helps us in doing this unique role is that we are a team who really do support and lift each other up; you will never feel like you’re in it alone. We really are stronger together.’

We have great relationships with our partners:

“SaPH is a welcoming and highly professional and supportive environment that champions a culture of true joint working and safeguarding partner co-location. This underpins consistent, effective practice, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met through the provision of timely, well-informed, targeted and appropriate support to children and families” (Safeguarding in Education team)

There are interesting and exciting opportunities for everyone, as well a real mix of career pathways you can explore with us here at East Riding.

Our ‘grow your own’ approach to social work training, social work apprenticeship degree route alongside the development of the workforce academy, practice standards and quality assurance framework has created a solid foundation for consistent practice to be developed and has contributed to retention and recruitment.

In March 23, our Children & Families teams and Assessment teams were awarded ‘good’ in by Ofsted.

We have created a bespoke practice model that reflects and connects our vision, our value base and our behaviour as one East Riding of Yorkshire approach to working with children, young people and their families, which is nurtured and grown from within East Riding of Yorkshire CYPSSS and owned by our workforce.

We remain committed to Signs of Safety as a practice framework, but this is set within a much wider, values based, model of practice that clearly connects Signs of Safety with the East Riding value base, and our overall approach to making and sustaining relationships with children, families and communities. Our Stronger Together approach is strengths based, solution-focussed, and relational recognising that the very best work with families takes place within the context of excellent, collaborative relationships.

A well embedded model ensures we all have something to centre our practice on so that, while the work may be different, all of our teams are grounded in the same values, beliefs, theories and approaches. Having a well-developed practice model helps to create a common language for the service and enables everyone to understand how we go about doing the right things, in the right way and for the right reasons for children and their families.

We have made excellent progress in our transformation journey, and we are ambitious.

This is an excellent opportunity to shine in a visible, well-resourced and well-regarded social care environment. There has never been a more exciting time to East Riding. If this kind of environment resonates with you and you are looking for a new opportunity, we’d be delighted to receive your application.

At East Riding, we know that we are Stronger Together
