ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY     

This is an exciting time to join One Adoption South Yorkshire who are seeking to recruit a Family Finding Social Worker to join the Regional Adoption Agency based in Rotherham.  

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and committed professional Social Worker who has significant experience in Children’s Social Care and Adoption to join our stable workforce. We have high aspirations to achieve the very best outcomes for vulnerable children and young people requiring a plan of adoption. As a Family Finder you will play a significant role in progressing plans for children who have a plan of adoption  and will  be involved in promoting Early Permanence for all children and take on the role of EPP Champion. You will be expected to undertake direct work  and apply evidence-based practice to inform permanency plans  that will achieve positive and sustainable outcomes for their future.     

The Regional Adoption Agency’s focus is on:  

Recruiting and assessing adopters for children when the plan is permanency through adoption.    

An opportunity to be involved in developing recruitment, assessment, preparation and support of adopters within the Regional Adoption Agency.    

Working with colleagues across the RAA to achieve timely adoption placements.    

Promoting Early Permanence for children whose plan is adoption to ensure children are placed in adoption placements at the earliest opportunity and promote EPP within the recruitment of adopters.    

ABOUT YOU    

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Adoption Team based in Rotherham.  

You will have :  

Social work qualification e.g. DipSW, CQSW, CSS, Degree Social Work England (SWE) Registered.

Significant post qualifying experience of working in childcare social work, including direct experience of adoption work.  

Experience of working in a Local Authority or voluntary agency

Experience of formulating and implementing childcare plans to promote positive outcomes.  

Knowledge and understanding of the Children Act 1989, the Adoption and Children Act 2002, Adoption National Minimum Standards and other relevant legislation.  

Practical knowledge of working/dealing with difficult situations in a diplomatic, sensitive and caring professional manner. 

Utilising a range of ICT systems and applications.  

Experience or knowledge of Early Permanence Planning.  

Knowledge of other agencies and their role.  

Promoting and facilitating multi-disciplinary and partnership working with private, public and community/voluntary sectors.  

Knowledge of Government initiatives relating to adoption.
