Title: Specialist Teacher
Salary: £28,000 - £38,810 plus £2,384 SEN allowance

The Inclusion Service works in partnership with all schools and settings within North Yorkshire to promote the inclusion, participation and achievement of children and young people with SEND. These services are allocated into SEND hubs, coordinating provision at a locality level across CYPS as a whole to ensure needs are met holistically.
You will take a county wide role in overseeing the provision for primary aged children that are permanently excluded or in receipt of multiple exclusions across the county, providing quality interim education and supporting transition to an appropriate long term placement. You will work in partnership with the SEND locality hubs and the exclusion officer.
The role will include:
· Working with schools to develop places for children whom have been permanently excluded
· Co-ordinating a team of specialist practitioners to deliver the 6th day provision
· Curriculum planning for the delivery of education for children whom are permanently excluded
· The oversight of progress of CYP in receipt of 6th day provision
· Determining the nature and underlying causes of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
· Development of inclusive practices to build capacity in schools
· Planning and modelling appropriate support and intervention
· Developing whole school provision and approaches to meeting needs, including restorative approaches and behaviour policies
· Ensuring statutory responsibilities of the LA are fulfilled
· To support the professional lead in the development and delivery of strategic developments for excluded children and young people (CYP) and those with SEMH needs
This role involves a specialist level of spoken communication so a confident use of English language is required.
