As part of their World Social Work Day programme, Community Care are running a free webinar looking at wellbeing for practitioners on the 19th March at 12pm.
"Secondary trauma: How to look after your wellbeing as a social worker" will be co-led by counsellor, psychotherapist and lecturer, and Head of Learning and Development at Black Country Women's aid Kate Collier. Sass and Kate run SelfCare Psychology, a specialist training provider focusing on professions who are at risk of secondary trauma, burnout and fatigue.
The webinar will help you to:
- Understand how to look after your wellbeing in a professional context.
- Learn about the risk of secondary trauma and how it might impact you as a social worker.
- Understand how to mitigate the risk of secondary trauma through healthy practice as opposed to simply “treating” the problem.
- Find out more about SelfCare Psychology’s Five Pillars of Protection model and how it can help you as a social worker, or support your team as a manager.
As well as the live session, a recorded version, transcript, and additional resources will be made available to participants.
