
Cabinet members at Barnsley Council have approved the proposal for a new ‘Edge of Care’ service, which aims to provide targeted support to families whose children are at risk of entering care.
The aim of this service is to support teenagers experiencing family breakdown, complex behavioural issues, domestic abuse, or substance abuse. Staff will work with families to provide flexible and targeted support to improve outcomes for young people when going into care is not in their best interests.
The council are now looking for a creative, dedicated and caring social care professional to lead their brand-new team.
