Anne Raud being presented with her award by Matthew Boud, Service Director – Children Services, and Louise Danks, Principal Social Worker
We’re pleased to announce the next CSWM Award winner for the month of February 2025! Our judging panel from Kirklees has chosen Anne Raud from Barnsley as the deserved winner.
Nominated for her extensive career in social work, dedicated to supporting children and families and commitment to the role, Anne has proven to be a great influence on her peers. She has also been recognised as one of Barnsley’s most decorated Practice Educators, supporting and developing the careers of many young social workers, as well as continuing to serve as a panel member even as she retires from her full-time role.
Here’s the feedback from our judges:
“We were really impressed with Anne’s dedication to the world of social work. It is clear that she has had a huge impact, not only on the lives of the children she is the social worker for, but also that of future colleagues as an inspiring practice educator. It sounds like she is the complete social worker and really deserves her forthcoming retirement.”
Judges: Rob Fordyce, Head of Service for Quality Assurance, Practice Development and Principal Social Worker and Vicky Metheringham, Service Director, Family Support and Child Protection at Kirklees Council
Colleagues at Barnsley were delighted with Anne's win:
“It was a particular privilege for me [to present this award] as I was in the same team as Anne when she started her journey in Barnsley all those years ago.”
Matthew Boud, Service Director – Children Services
Congratulations Anne!
The CSWM Awards are our monthly award which celebrates social workers who go above and beyond. Each of our partner local authorities and adoption agencies can make one nomination per month. The winner is picked by our guest judges - senior colleagues from different local authorities.
