Lucy Crossland with her certificate presented by Lisa Bushby, Service Manager for Sheffield’s Children Looked After Service

Our CSWM Award winner for the month of December has been announced! Our judging panel from North Yorkshire has chosen Lucy Crossland from Sheffield City Council, with the following praise:

“Lucy has demonstrated her excellent relationship-based practice and has gone above and beyond, the example included within the nomination was clearly a distressing time for all concerned and she has shown great personal resilience which has in turn endured to the benefit and support for all the children. It is a credit to Lucy that she instinctively knew that she was the right person to undertake this very sensitive work, demonstrating the importance of the relationship she has with all the children. This nomination stood out - well done Lucy.”

Judges: Mel Hutchinson, Assistant Director Children & Families, Jo Miles, Principal Child & Family Social Worker and Sam Clayton, Head of Effective Practice and Quality Assurance from North Yorkshire Council

Cllr Dawn Dale, Chair of the Education, Children’s and Families Committee, said of Lucy’s win:

“Lucy’s amazing hard work and compassion is demonstrated throughout all of the work that she does with and for care-experienced children in Sheffield.

“Being recognised externally for this through the award is justly deserved! We are really proud of Lucy and are extremely privileged to have her as part of our team.”

Congratulations Lucy!

The CSWM Awards are our monthly award which celebrates social workers who go above and beyond. Each of our partner local authorities and adoption agencies can make one nomination per month. The winner is picked by our guest judges - senior colleagues from different local authorities.
