Social Worker of the Year Awards 2022: One day to go!

CSWM news

It’s important for social work as a profession to reflect on practice and what can be improved, but it’s just as important to recognise where social workers have gone above and beyond to make a difference in people’s lives. The Social Worker of the Year Awards give us a chance to do just that!

Supporting early career social workers has always been a big part of what CSWM is all about, so we've chosen to sponsor the Newly Qualified Children's Social Worker of the Year category, and we're looking forward to hearing all the inspiring stories behind each nomination.

It's always brilliant to see great practice from Yorkshire & the Humber being recognised at a national level too, so we're all incredibly proud to have eight nominees from our region. The ceremony takes place tomorrow night, so we wish everyone the best of luck!

The full list of nominees from Yorkshire & the Humber is:

Anna Boddy, City of York Council (Newly Qualified Adult Social Worker of the Year)

Carolyn Smith, Wakefield Council (Practice Educator of the Year)

Momoh Etunu Suleman, University of Bradford (Student Social Worker of the Year)
